How We Write
Pool & Tub Fix guides are written for one moment: you’re standing next to the water, something looks or smells wrong, and you want to know what to do first. Here’s how we make them.
Topics come from real problems
We write about the situations pool and hot tub owners actually run into: cloudy and green water, chemistry readings that won’t cooperate, pumps and filters acting up, spas that won’t heat, and the yearly rhythm of opening and closing.
Every guide follows the same order
- A Water Check Card up top with the readings that matter for that problem.
- Why it happens, in plain language.
- The fix, in order, starting with testing, circulation and filtration before adding more chemicals.
- Safety notes wherever chemicals, electricity or gas are involved.
- When to call a pool pro, so you know where DIY should stop.
- A Chem Card summary you can screenshot and take outside.
Checking accuracy
Guides are based on hands-on experience and checked against product labels, equipment manufacturer manuals and widely accepted pool care practice. When a number varies by pool type or product, we give a common range and tell you to confirm it for your own setup rather than presenting it as universal.
Tools we use
We use software, including AI writing tools, to help research, outline and draft. Each guide is reviewed and edited before it’s published, and we’re responsible for what it says. Photos are licensed from their creators and credited, or created for the guide.
Corrections and updates
The “Updated” date on each guide shows its latest meaningful revision. If you think something is wrong, tell us and we’ll review it.
Ads don’t steer content
